Mars
As the Perseverance Rover approaches Mars, NASA mysteriously remove the countdown clock to the landing. Fear not, the countdown clocks on this site are still working: Perseverance Rover. Note that after the landing, the page will reflect the current mission time and other data made available.
I have been informed that weather data will be made available from NASA via their servers in the same way that I fetch the weather data from the InSight lander, but the data portal will take a few weeks to setup. Since weather data from InSight is becoming sparse and next to useless (it has now reached the end of its original mission and is beginning an extension), it will be a relief to have more data available.
Perseverance has an equivalent weather monitoring suite to InSight, but also includes humidity data, a first on Mars.
Move
I'm about to begin moving home, so there will be some disruption to the updates on this site. The Mars weather page, which is updated within five minutes of new data becoming available, will necessarily halt. Aside from moving my Raspberry Pi's to my new home, I need a landline and broadband connected. My ISP assures me the transfer should take no more than a week, and since I have access to both homes, downtime should be limited to around one day.
The website is hosted by a hosting company, it is only my ability to automatically update certain pages that will be interrupted. The list of pages affected are below. They are all in the Aardvaark section.
NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD)
Mars Weather Reports
Near Earth Objects
I'll delete this page and post a new announcement once the transition is complete.
